Bulleid Semi-open Brake Third of 1947. Two of these Brake Third coaches were formed with a Composite coach to form the '770' or 'L' 3-corridor sets. Due to supply difficulties, those produced in 1946 and early 1947 received a temporary window ventilator which was quickly replaced as soon as the sliding type became available. These coaches generally lasted until the end of steam in the mid 1960s.

The model is shown finished in SR 1947 livery with the sliding window ventilator. Please note that during construction of the kit, those parts of the conventional Phoenix aluminium roof which overlap the sides were removed and replaced with appropriate plasticard section to produce the slender 'gutter' section which Bulleid introduced. Roxey Mouldings' Bogies and correct pattern SR retractable buffers are also fitted.
